After I map a new data source and start querying the data in the Toad.I was wondering if the SQL query in the Toad compiled to HBase shell or Map Reduce. Can anyone explain how its work in the Toad? Thanks

Hi Michael,

Toad sends the SQL to the Quest Data Hub, which translates it into the appropriate formats for the remote data source(s). In the case of an HBase data source, the Hub accesses HBase using the Stargate REST connector.

For more complete map-reduce support, our recently released Eclipse version of Toad for Cloud Databases also supports connections to Hive

Regards,
Stewart.
